This handsome little chap is Cookie, who has arrived into our care from a pound that we work with after being found as a stray and, sadly, never claimed.
Cookie is a confident, friendly boy who absolutely loves people and is more than happy to come over and say hello.
He loves getting out and about and is a proper little explorer. There is always something interesting to investigate when you’re a Jack Russell, after all!
Cookie enjoys playing with toys, although he is not completely obsessed with them. He would much rather have a good nose around and see what else is going on too! He enjoys his walks and walks reasonably well in a harness, and we would love to find him an active home where he can enjoy plenty of walks, adventures, playtime and quality time with his people.
Other Dogs:
Cookie has been non-reactive around other dogs while out walking, but he is not a fan of strange dogs coming right up to him or getting into his personal space. Basically, Cookie is saying “You can be over there… I’ll be over here… and we’ll all have a lovely time!”
He is not a dog looking for a social calendar packed with canine friends, so he needs an owner who understands his boundaries and is happy to give him the space he needs.
COOKIE’S IDEAL HOME:
- A single person or couple
- An active home with plenty of walks and adventures
- Children aged ten years upwards due to his unknown history
- Someone around for most of the day initially while he settles in
- No cats or small furries
- Once Cookie is fully settled and comfortable, he should be able to be left for sensible periods of time.
Cookie needs someone who will enjoy his cheeky Jack Russell personality, give him plenty to do, respect his boundaries and, most importantly, make him feel like he has finally found where he belongs.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
The adoption process is £250 which includes: full vet check, vaccinations, microchipping, flea & worm treatment, neutering, lifetime rescue back-up.
If you are interested in adopting Cookie, contact the Rescue direct to receive a questionnaire. We will then send you our pre-adoption questionnaire to complete. Once we have reviewed your application and feel Cookie could be a suitable match, we will arrange the next steps, including a virtual home check and a meeting with Cookie.
Please only apply if you are genuinely in a position to adopt within a reasonable timeframe, as we cannot hold dogs for extended periods.
