Meet Rio

Resident animal at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Age: Five years old

Resident dog Rio is not looking for a home, but we would like to tell you about him as he is often seen on our Facebook posts. Rio arrived at the Rescue as a result of domestic violence. He had been beaten and abused and even had a knife held to his throat on one occasion. As a result of the trauma he has endured, Rio has some behavioural problems which means he is not able to live in a home. However, he has his own ‘pad’ here, complete with his own sofa, and staff who adore him. Rio gets along with most of the dogs we have in for rehoming and often becomes pals with those that stay with us whilst waiting for their forever homes.
