Meet Ted

Adoptable dog at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Status: available

Breed: Akita

Age: Six years old

Ted arrived a the Rescue after his previous owner left him tied up along with another dog.  As a result, he was placed into a pound and in need of  a second chance.

Ted had a terrible flea infestation, which had been left untreated for some time, leaving his skin with hot spots and sores. This is now being treated and he will be feeling and looking better very soon, but this may be something that needs to continue into his home, until it is fully cleared up.

Ted is morbidly obese (weighing in at just 5kg less than King Kenny!!) So he is on a diet and exercise plan to help him lose some weight.  Despite being a big boy, Ted has a spring in his step and enjoys his walks. His tail never stops wagging and his cheeky nature and charm has already gained him an army of fans at the Rescue. He is a very clean boy, travels well and is good on his lead. He has been good meeting other dogs, but can take a dislike to one every now and then.

Ted is looking for an active home where he will not be left for longer than 4 hours at a time. He could live with older children (10 years plus) and he could live with another dog, with successful introductions, but no cats.
