Meet Red

Adoptable dog at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Status: adopted

Breed: Crossbreed

Age: Four years old

Red arrived at Pennine Pen from another rescue, to give him a fresh start, as he was not coping in the busy environment. He is a gentle easy-going boy, who does enjoy a play and a walk, but will also chill out and enjoy a fuss.

Red is not reactive to dogs out on walks and has walked with our other dogs with no issues, so could possibly live with a similar size female with successful introductions. Any children in the home would need to be seven years plus.

Red is a crossbreed, but he is a larger crossbreed (German Shepherd size) and that has put a lot of people off. He is a loving boy who greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and if he gets really excited, he does a little happy grin.

Red travels well, is clean in his kennel, and has been amazing with all the dogs he has met at the Rescue and out on walks. Red is a dog that will need to stay on lead (he is not bothered by this and enjoys his walks) as he is a typical sighthound and will chase small furries and needs a lot of work on his recall.
