Meet Poppy

Adoptable dog at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Status: adopted

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Age: Two years old

Poppy arrived at the Rescue, along with her five puppies, as her owner had sadly passed away. Poppy has been a fantastic mum to her puppies and has protected them all the way, but they have all found their forever homes and it is Poppy’s turn to find a loving family of her own.

At the moment, Poppy is a bit nervous and jittery, due to lack of socialisation. When she first arrived at the Rescue, Poppy was petrified of walking on a lead. However, with a bit of practice, Poppy has started to enjoy herself and have a good sniff around, but this is something that will need to be worked on in her new home, as she is still jittery on her walks and will bark at dogs and people she sees.

Poppy is a loyal dog and absolutely loves people and being in their company.  She loves nothing more than cuddling up and having a fuss. When she meets new people, she does bark at them out of nerves, but she does not mean anything by this and soon stops, once she realises that they are her friend.

Poppy is looking for an active home, where she will receive lots of socialisation. Poppy could live with sensible children, aged six years plus, as she has lived with them in her previous homes and been very good with them. Poppy will also need to be the only pet in the home.
