Meet Martha

Adoptable dog at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Status: adopted

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Age: Two years old

Martha was sadly very neglected before arriving at the Rescue. The lack of socialisation Martha has had means she is reactive to other dogs when on walks and also towards people who are walking towards her.

Martha needs a family who are committed to training her so she can learn to walk on lead and not be so afraid of everything around her.

Martha will need walking in quiet areas to begin with, to help build her confidence with her new family. Her new owners will need to be able to drive her to different quiet walking spots so she is able to get a bond with them and also start her on lead training. She will also need a secure garden of her own where she can burn off some steam in a safe area.

Martha is great with people she meets at the Rescue and loves a fuss. She can get quite mouthy and excited when she plays so any children in the house will need to be ten years and older. Martha is fine to be left for a couple of hours at a time. We have been working on her toilet training while she has been with us and her new owners will need to continue with it to ensure she has no accidents in the home. Martha would like a home with no other animals.
