Meet Gertrude

Adoptable dog at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue in Manchester, UK

Status: reserved

Breed: Mastiff

Age: Three years old

Gertrude was sadly used for breeding and once surplus to requirements and no longer needed, she was discarded. This poor girl was also heavily urine stained even after having a bath.

Gertrude is now safe at Pennine Pen and will not be having anymore puppies. She desperately needs a loving family to give her the forever home she truly deserves. Gertrude is a very loving girl, weighing in at 50kg, but she is a little underweight at the moment. She is going to be a very large dog, so she will need a family who understands large breeds.

Gertrude is looking for a home as the only pet and any children would need to be in their teens. Obviously, due to her size, she will need a strong handler to walk her (she has received halti training to help with her walks). She travels well in the car and happily jumps in and out.

Gertrude is a big, loveable dope, who is full of beans and at times, acts like a big puppy. She is such a sweet girl, who loves a fuss and will flop on her side for a belly rub.
