Breed: Chihuahua/Jack Russell cross
Age: Eighteen months old
Oscar arrived at the Rescue, along with another dog, as his owner could no longer look after them properly.
Due to leading such a sheltered life, Oscar does have some issues that require him to need a special forever home. Once he knows you, Oscar enjoys a fuss, sitting on your knee, giving you kisses and he loves to play ball, but he does need careful introductions in a place he is comfortable and feels safe. Oscar is the same with dogs, once he knows them he is great, but again, he needs proper introductions.
We have been working on Oscar’s reactivity on his walks, so this is something that will need to be continued in his forever home. Oscar is looking for an understanding home, who can give him plenty of exercise and continue his training. Oscar has been diagnosed with a mild luxating patella, which means his kneecap can occasionally pop in and out. He does not require surgery at this moment in his life, so we are giving him supplements to help his joints, but this could change in the future. He is looking for a home with strictly no children, or visiting children. Once Oscar knows a dog, he loves to play, so he could live with another dog with successful introductions. We know there is a family out there waiting for an Oscar in their life, they just do not know it yet!
